The Real George Bush

John Kerry and other Democrats have called President Bush a liar, a traitor, you name it, they've said it. But then I see stories like this one that describes an encounter with the President at church. Or this one from an experience someone had with him at Walter Reed Hospital. The two viewpoints don't make sense unless of course the President is some kind of evil genius capable of "spinning" the public. But then he's referred to as a bumbling fool or a figurehead who lets others run his administration. You can't have it both ways. Either he's an evil genius, a bumbling fool, or a decent guy trying to do the right thing for this country. I prefer to believe the latter but John Kerry and others, who clearly have something at stake here, want you to believe something else.

A while back I wrote something called "I Pray Daily, Am I an Extremist?" that talks about the past Presidents and their faith.

http://www.patriot-paradox.com/archives/000154.html

It is based off a review of a book I bought recently and can't wait to read: The Faith of George W. Bush.

Also, I was at a Honorbound Men's Conference this weekend, and the head director was a retired Secret Service agent who served from Jimmy Carter's presidency until Bill Clinton's. He left in '96, and said that the differnece between Carter, Reagan, and Bush and the Clinton years was stark. As for W. he said that he sees no problem with a president that opens each day in prayer prostate on the floor of the Oval Office praying for his country.

Neither do I.

Great blog by the way!

Maybe I have been an RN too long and envision only one thing when the word "prostate" is used. What sort of position does anyone, much less the president of the United States, assume when he is "prostate"? Is this another way to imply "kneeling" or perhaps lying prone? I just can't picture this.

AHHHHHHHHH! I misspelled the word! That should have been prostrate which means stretched out with face on the ground in adoration or submission.

Hopefully Bush has no prostate problems while he is prostrate!

You gotta love how the Dems with the help of the news media can spin the public on George Bush. No he's not the most articulate of speakers (although I've heard some exceptionally bad speakers on CSPAN from the House and Senate too) this just gives them fodder. Take a few words out of context, put the right story around them, and the president looks like a fool.

My sister falls for this one all the time. She gets practically all her news from TV. She insists that he's an idiot. I keep asking - if he's such an idiot, how did he get elected? There's never an answer to that one. I contend that no matter what party you belong to, you can not make it to the Presidency of this country if you are stupid! Period!

JD, Nice place you got here.

Perhaps the President is basically an Okay guy who is completely convinced that he's right all the time, never questions his own beliefs, believes that everyone who doesn't agree with him is evil, and ends up doing horrible things either a) because he thinks they're good, or b) the horrible people he's doing them to are horrible and deserve the horribleness.

disclaimer: I'm aware that we've got people over here like that over here on the left side of the aisle too (ya hear that Howard?). Difference is, ours aren't running the country.

Thanks for your comments - both of you. I always get mixed up on the prostrate/prostate thing too, but it is pretty funny.

I think Bush should not be president and I do not trust Cheney and Rumsfeld. I don't know about Kerry, but I think i will vote against bush. These people give me a really bad feeling

Isn't that something. Kerry has no supporters. People don't vote for him, just against Bush. Does anyone else see a problem with this?
