Drink The Kool-Aid

This is a Blog For Bush and each week on "Wictory Wednesday", many of the Blogs for Bush ask people to contribute to the campaign. Well, I was just wondering...how many of the bloggers for Bush have actually donated to the Bush-Cheney campaign themselves.

I know that I was shocked, shocked to find that my own mother had only given $10. I'm really tempted to start looking up the Bush bloggers to see who's been donating and how much. You can see who's "drinking the kool-aid" by going here.

I am not trying to be sarcastic here or anything, but ...

WHEW! My mother has NOT given any money yet. (She often does donate.) That means she is still researching what she terms, "election issues."

I don't intend to give anything to any political campaign. I believe that the best way to use the resources God has given me is to promote the ideas that I think are right that so many people fallaciously argue against, to defend military action to remove the Hussein regime, to defend compassionate conservatism, to show that Bush's attitudes toward racial issues are far better for minorities in the U.S. than those of the Democrats, etc. I have been given some abilities toward clear thinking and some training toward spotting bad arguments and defending good arguments. I haven't been given much in the way of financial resources and seek to reserve those for things I can have more of an influence on (e.g. my family's health, security, and nourishment, my brother's support as a missionary, which is usually below what it's supposed to be, and my local congregation's immediate financial needs). Those who can't do as well as what I'm good at but have lots of money to give might better be spending their money and not wasting their words. It's each person's moral responsibility to do what they can to help in the best ways they can.

Jeremy,
I couldn't agree with you more. We are all called, but not everyone is called to the same things. There's a duty implicit in all we've been given to use it wisely.
More and more it's plain to me that we're engaged in a cultural and spiritual battle. Other generations have faced their own battles and this is ours.
